As we've all seen in the news, Los Angeles is facing massive wildfires that have forced thousands to evacuate, with many at risk of losing their homes. The Santa Barbara community has risen to the occasion, providing support through donations, free meals, shelter, and more. To make it easier to contribute, we've compiled a list of local businesses and organizations offering assistance and ways you can get involved. Dune Coffee Roasters | 528 Anacapa, 5915 A Calle Real, 1101 State Street, 250 Storke Rd: For the next week, one of our favorite local coffee shops will be donating 30% of all whole bean sales directly to Gofundmes for those who have lost their homes, as well as affected coffee shops and industry humans who need support. Evacuees can also stop by for a free coffee.
Santa Barbara Public Market | 38 W Victoria St: The SB Public Market is currently accepting donations for diabetic friendly food, instant coffee, baby formula, sleeping equipment and more until January 19th. In addition, Big T’s Deli located in the Public Market is offering 50% off all orders for first responders and evacuees.
Hook & Press | 15 East Figueroa St: Until January 19th, Hook & Press Donuts will be donating 100% of proceeds from their signature Browned Butter brioche donut to the Pasadena Humane Society, who are working tirelessly to help and rescue animals, both wildlife and pets, affected by the fires.
Captain Fatty’s | 6489 Calle Real, Suite D: The Goleta brewery and taproom is currently accepting donations until January 17th to deliver to LA. They are specifically looking for gift cards to restaurants and grocery stores.
Welcome Coffee Cart: The local traveling coffee cart is headed down to LA to hand out free coffee. You can catch them at Malibu village Shopping Center on Tuesday 1/21, The Gap on Wilshire in Santa Monica on Wednesday 1/22, and Thursday 1/23 at the Flintridge Center.
Yoga Soup | 28 Parker Way: This yoga spot is providing classes by donation for those displaced and impacted by the fires, including a special benefit class this Friday 1/17 to support the LA Food + Supply drive. $25/ticket or free to evacuees.
Girls Inc | 5315 Foothill Rd: Carpinteria’s Girls Inc nonprofit is offering free childcare for displaced families with school aged children for the next coming weeks. The free childcare program will be available Monday through Friday from 10 am to 1 pm.
Museum of Art, 1130 State Street | Natural History Museum, 2559 Puesta del Sol: The SB Museum of Art is offering free admission to impacted people, in hopes they find solace and peace in the art that surrounds us. Additionally, the Natural History Museum's Nature Adventures education programs have opened free slots to kids 4-8 years old from families who’ve evacuated
Local Donation Drive: Give to a donation drive organized by one of our team members, who will be collecting items to deliver to LA shelters in need. Items will be collected until Thursday January 16th - DM @savbosely on Instagram for pick up address location or if you need items picked up.
