The new Santa Barbara ReStore is bringing together affordable home goods, sustainability, and community impact, all from its location at 400 State Street. Operated by Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County, the ReStore sells donated, gently used furniture, home improvement materials, décor, appliances, and more at a fraction of traditional retail prices. Even better, proceeds from every purchase directly support Habitat’s mission of building and preserving affordable housing throughout the Santa Barbara community.
David recently stopped by the ReStore for a behind the scenes look and sat down with Susan, Director of Philanthropy and External Affairs, to learn more about how the store works. Their conversation covered everything from how donated items are selected and priced to what shoppers can expect to find on the shelves. Because inventory comes directly from community donations, every visit offers something different, making the ReStore part home improvement shop and part treasure hunt, all while supporting an important local cause.
Community members can support the ReStore in several ways, whether by shopping, donating gently used items, scheduling a donation pickup, or volunteering. The Santa Barbara ReStore is located at 400 State Street at the corner of State and Gutierrez and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted Wednesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Stop by to discover something new for your home while helping make affordable housing possible right here in Santa Barbara.
