The She.Is.Beautiful 5k & 10k returns to Santa Barbara this weekend, offering a women-led experience focused on inspiring, uplifting, and creating a welcoming space for humans to come together through movement. Each year thousands of women partake in the run, reminding each other of their strength, beauty, and confidence. She.Is.Beautiful also funds local charities and non-profits, ensuring the run is as impactful for the community as it is physically and emotionally redeeming for its runners.
She.Is.Beautiful was founded by Melissa McConville, and began with 500 participants in Santa Cruz California. The running event has since expanded to Santa Barbara as well, with thousands of participants coming together yearly to make a positive difference both on and off the course. We had an amazing opportunity to speak with Melissa in 2023 to discuss the event, it's purpose, and how to join in the fun. Watch the whole interview here. The She.Is.Beautiful 5k and 10k will take place on Saturday, September 12 at 8:30am. You can register for the event here or cheer on the runners at the start line, located on E. Cabrillo Blvd. Post-run festivities will occur after the race until 11:30am. SIB will also be hosting a Super Dog 1k Race and a Kids 1K Race this Friday, September 11th at 4:45pm and 5:00pm + complimentary face painting from 4:00pm-6:00pm (During bib pickup). Also be sure to present your bib at a Rori's ice cream location for a free scoop!
