The 50th Annual Summer Solstice Celebration is this weekend, June 21 - 23! Kick off this Summer with the Summer Solstice weekend-long festival at Alameda Park and the Downtown parade. This year’s theme is Flights of Fancy!
The Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Celebration is a creative, fun, community-based event where locals and visitors come together to celebrate the longest day of the year! The festival began in 1974 and has since become one of the largest events in Santa Barbara County, drawing in thousands of spectators from around the world. The festival is known to feature floats, giant puppets, whimsical costumes, and plenty of music and dancing.
The festival at Alameda Park will feature live world music, local food vendors, and artists and craftspeople. It will be open all weekend, from Friday 4 - 9 PM, Saturday 12 - 8 PM, and Sunday 12 - 6 PM. The Parade will begin at the intersection of Ortega and Santa Barbara Streets at 12 PM on Saturday, June 22.
