LOCAL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT - PAPERBACK ALLEY (WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESS SERIES)

Paperback Alley Used Books in Old Town Goleta

March is Women’s History Month! To show our appreciation for the amazing women in this community, we will be spotlighting a women-owned business every week this month.

Paperback Alley Used Books is an independently owned used book store offering a wide array of genres for readers of all ages. In 1978, Paperback Alley was founded by UCSB graduates Shannon and Bill. For over 40 years since, Paperback Alley’s low prices and strong community have kept the local shop a successful business through a time of e-books and internet shopping. Current owner Ruta Safranavicius took over the shop in 1998 and she is still dedicated to providing books to Santa Barbara and Goleta readers to this day!

Not only can you purchase great books at Paperback Alley, but you can also sell your old books in exchange for store credit! Located in charming Old Town Goleta, the shop’s cozy atmosphere paired with the delightful smell of old books makes it a great place to browse, even if you don’t end up purchasing anything. Paperback Alley is one of our favorite local bookshops, and we love to stop by anytime we are in the area!
