Owner and pastry chef Alyssa Guehr at ALESSIA Patisserie & Café
March is Women’s History Month! To show our appreciation for the amazing women in this community, we will be spotlighting a women-owned business every week this month.
ALESSIA Patisserie & Café is where European pastry meets California’s central coast. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, owner and pastry chef Alessia Guehr began her career at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Montecito. From there she worked her way up as an assistant pastry chef at restaurants in both Santa Barbara and San Francisco. She also studied at the Melissa Coppel Chocolate & Pastry School in Las Vegas where she worked with renowned pastry chefs like Frank Haasnoot. After years of training and experience, Alessia decided to open her very own patisserie in Santa Barbara, where she could share her love of pastry with her hometown community.
Utilizing fresh and sustainable ingredients, Alessia’s mission is to deliver an exceptional culinary experience and outstanding customer service to all its customers. ALESSIA blends fine dining with local ingredients, and classic recipes with new trends to curate the perfect menu. The popular restaurant also offers a variety of services including event catering, custom cakes, and a special dessert experience. This is one of the team's favorite places to pick up a post-farmers market pastry!
